Mark Fijen and Anouk Cleven established the SOLidariedade Foundation on June 26th, 2012 in The Netherlands.

profiel fotoAnouk Cleven (1973) has a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nijmegen, in the Netherlands. She started her career as a psychologist in the areas of mental healthcare and (special) education. After several years she was recruited as a consultant for an international religious charity organization. It was during this period that her interest and motivation for development work grew. Anouk was part of the Charity Project team and was able to visit several development projects in Romania,  Mexico, Guatemala and Brazil. At the beginning of 2009 Anouk and her husband, Mark Fijen, moved to Indonesia to work as professional volunteers for the international development organization VSO (Voluntary Services Overseas). In 2009/2010 Anouk worked on the island of Flores as a management advisor for several local organizations. In 2011 she moved to Makassar on the island of South-Sulawesi in Indonesia to start working as a fundraiser for several Disabled People’s Organizations. In her free time Anouk likes to read, write and cook, in Brazil she joined the national sport: jogging.

Anouk is the director of SOLidariedade. In that role, she is responsible for the administration, communication, PR and fundraising.

Mark2Mark Fijen (1972) graduated as industrial engineer (Msc) from the Eindhoven University of Technology. He has more than 10 years work experience in corporate business environment. This in the area of logistics, transportation and management. After working here for multiple years he was looking for other job opportunities. At the beginning of 2009 Mark and his wife, Anouk Cleven, moved to Indonesia and started working as professional volunteers for the international organization VSO (Voluntary Services Overseas).  In 2009 and 2010 he worked as a management advisor in a regional hospital in Flores. He gave computer training and advised the management board. Under his leadership a new computerized system for medicine distribution was developed and implemented. In Flores Mark also coordinated the construction of a new water system in a remote village. At the beginning of 2011 he moved to Makassar, where he worked as a management advisor for an interest group of blind people. He assisted the organization with  management, finance and computer training.  In his free time Mark likes sports and reading.

Mark is the program director of SOLidariedade. In this role, he is responsible for program development, website maintenance, visa and finance.
